VFR Enroute

Recommended Posts

This is one of the first flights where I've done over 200 miles.  WS51 Leeward (private strip) to C16 Frasca Field.  WS51 is freeware at flightsim.to and C16 is payware but easily worth the low cost.  Aircraft is the stunning "Vertigo" from GotGravel.  Initially the weather is VFR with overcast-broken skies and NW gusty winds.  Cloud tops reported around 11,500 ft in the area from PIREPS.  I could have cruised at 3500 ft the entire way but that's a lot of fuel so I found a hole and climbed through at 5000 fpm to level off at 17,500 ft.  Aloft I've got a nice tailwind and sippin O2 just shy of 400 knots over the ground.  That makes this 222 mile flight just a memory as the clouds break up and I descend towards C16.

Please enjoy!
