April 24, 20215 yr Author Hi I have limited expertise with ADE for v5 and have made attempts to change altitude/flatten settings but so far have been unable to affect how some runways (MMUN, MUGM so far) appear in V5.
April 24, 20215 yr 1) Open the default airport in ADEv5 2) Write down the airport altitude 3) Open your v4 Airport in ADE 4) Change the airport altitude to the one from v5 5) Create a new flatten 6) Compile 7) Check the Sim
April 24, 20215 yr Author Hi I followed the instructions but could not find a "flatten" option. ADE seems to have saved my work and on startup P3D seemed to be updating my changes. Unfortunately there was no difference to the appearance of 12L at MMUN Thanks so far Warren
April 24, 20215 yr Author I made several more attempts using ADE to adjust the alititude of MMUN. It was in fact different by a couple of feet from the V4 scenery version. I made the changes and the new altitude shows in ADE. Unfortunately none of this has made any difference to the appearance (or lack of ) of runway 30L/12R at MMUN. I did find a terrain polygon under lists but ADE says none are present. Still not sure about flatten.
April 24, 20215 yr 0) Set the Alt according to the default P3Dv5 value 1) Select "Add Polygon" 2) Create a small triangle at the Airport Reference Point 3) Set it to Type (Exclude General) and Tag (Airport Backgrounds) 4) Draw a seconds polygon around your airport, so it covers all of it 5) Set it to Type (Airport Backgrounds) and Tag (Flatten Mask Class Map) -> Altitude must match the airport altitude (or go down by 1/2 feet) 6) Compile
April 24, 20215 yr Author Hi Kaiii3 I made a fairly feeble first attempt at using ADE as you suggested. I'm just not conversant enough with the program to use it properly. I couldn't find an airport reference point and I don't know how to draw a triangle around it. Perhaps the best option for me is to simply use the other runway which seems unaffected by altitude issues. Unfortunately I know more about airplanes than ADE. Thanks for your patience. Warren
April 24, 20215 yr I see your screenshots, yes its flatten issue (no file maybe or no flatten Layer in the scenery). You can correct it by ADE as in previouse posts. April 24, 20215 yr Author Thanks It's good to know that the issue is at least "fixable". I'll just have to learn more about ADE or find scenery fully compatible with P3Dv5. All the best Warren

All the best Warren Short manual for you for this problem ;). You can find many videos on YouTube also. April 25, 20215 yr Author Hi all Given my poor expertise in using ADE to correct airport issues I looked around for simpler solutions to my disappearing runways at some earlier designed airports exhibiting this problem. I found one where the offending airport is placed between "default scenery" and the "default terrain" in the P3Dv5 scenery library list and so far the runway 30L/12R is once again visible again the freeware MMUN scenery package. I have one or two other airports which I will reposition in this way and report the results. Thanks to all who have helped Warren
