Any Way to Disable Icing Effects on the Aircraft?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, is there a workaround for this?  I've tried the method described in the 'tips and tricks' section of setting the icing effects to 'visual only' and setting a hotkey for TOGGLE WINDSHIELD ICE.  With these settings, I can toggle off the cosmetic icing on the windshield, but I'm still getting the effects on the aircraft. Am I missing something here?  Is there not any way to disable the effects on the aircraft?

Yup, that is the way it is now. One of these updates is supposed to include a switch to turn icing off altogether. Can't wait, I have to stop flying in Canada and Northern Europe when it gets too cold.

Thanks Bob, for confirming.  So it looks like my options are to use live weather if it's warm enough, or create my own weather to ensure it's warm enough.

There is another place where you can influence the icing.
If you have installed the SDK, you can set the slider to zero under "Options - Visual Icing".
