Aircraft only appearing on the ground?

Recommended Posts

Having solved my liveries issue, thank you..  I am now sitting at Heathrow watching aircraft Taxi and park...  however they are only showing up on the ground...  when departing.. they taxi to runway start and the as soon as they atart their take-off run they dissapear...   also landing aircraft only appear when they have finished their roll out and start taxi-ing..

I tried looking in the FAQ etc but couldn't find anything relevant..   if you could point me to a solution I would be grateful 🙂  using MSFS and RealFlight.

Regards

Graham

Then they must have disappeared the traffic data  stream coming from RT.  This is purely bad luck I guess, if you had wait a little longer you'd seen aircraft landing and taking off. I have just visited Heathrow and saw a few planes landing and taking off but there is very little traffic due to the pandemic.

Try another airport, for instance Denver (KDEN).

Actually I came here to start a topic on this very issue, and noticed this. I use RealTraffic as provider.

For the time being I'm testing both versions of PSXseecontraffic (MSFS and P3d), and this behaviour is rather consistent now in both versions.

The aircraft taxi to rwy, and when takeoff rolling a little and then suddenly disappears, and then reappear when the aircraft is airborne.

I cannot say if this is because of the aircraft is lost in the traffic stream, but of course that could be. Just thought I'd report it, in case I was not the only one experiencing this.

BTW I just tested this on KDEN, and the ac taking off rom rwy 08, there was a gap in the stream from about a couple of 100 meters down the rwy until airborne. Then again, other aircraft is displayed all the way on the very same rwy. This is a strange inconsistency

EDDF rwy 25C is another example of this behaviour.

I guess this is as it is, and not better than the data fed. Maybe just the RealTraffic stream is getting of less quality now than earlier days. Anyone know if the RT stream update has longer intervals now than before?

Hi Vidar,

Like I wrote earlier the problem lies in the data stream coming from RealTraffic.

For instance here a short logging of the RT data about  THY8BK that took off from EHAM  about an hour ago.

It enters the runway, starts it take off but then it  holds and disappears from the sim, a little later it reappears in the air at about 1800 ft above the ground.

...

There is a gap of about 53 seconds… RT repeats the same position with timestamp 1620726776.

PSXT ignores this redundant data of course and after 30 seconds with no new position data it removes the aircraft from the sim…

I have reported this to Balthasar, lets hope he can do something about it.

Hi again

I would also let you know that I have been in dialogue with Balthasar on this issue, and he is looking into it. It seems to me there is an inconsistency in the transition between ground traffic and airborne traffic. Let's hope as you say he can find a solution. That would be great 🙂

Yes I know, we are in close contact.

Balthasar has made some changes. It looks better now at first sight. I saw about 20 aircraft taking off from EHAM within 25 minutes without any problems.

Have watched it now for 5 hours, all ok.

FIXED.

YES, I can concur it's definitely much better now. Almost all places I checked the last hours there was AC taking off as they should not disappearing.

Great news that Balthasar was able to make this adjustment to the traffic stream.
