Scenery Editor

Featured Replies

I plan on doing some airport updates but have not yet tried the Scenery Editor.  At the last SDK brief we were told that it would support effects - cool.

Has anyone used it yet?

Thanks

I have not paid attention to particle effects if that is what you mean. Animation is a bit complicated to get working (hence, a lot of work). As far as doing airports, it's not hard to just place some pre-made objects, but if you're rendering your own objects, there is a lot more to it, even outside the rendering itself. Depends what you mean by "designing airports". It's very very time consuming, my suggestion find a VERY VERY small airport (less than 7 buildings) and do that one first.

It just depends how detailed you want to make it, I am finishing up an airport that took 6 months of work, but I have the street signs and many surrounding buildings rendered, as well as custom placed vegetation polys, and the airport has almost 100 buildings. Something like that takes a VERY long time, if you find a small airport where the aerial imagery already looks good and you are just making a few buildings, then it won't take as long.

Thanks for all your work.  I remember a tool in FSX that let me add sounds to an airport.  Hope we get that.

Cheers
