May 5, 20215 yr Hi guys, I have a work in progress for building my own cockpit, not fully enclosed but it is stationary in it's own dedicated area. I currently use a standard swivel office chair but to become more authentic I am considering getting an old car seat which sits on it's own runners so I can move if back and forth to suit and mounting it on a piece of board for the runners to attach to...I am aware that the car seat is at more of an authentic height to a real airplanes seat (lower than the office chair) so my desk would need to be adjusted (Make that cut down lol) accordingly. is this a viable proposition ..has anybody else experience of this sort of thing? Thank you Dave

Once in the past when I worked for a farm equipment manufacturer I built an office chair from one of their "Personal Posture Seats" from a salvage row crop tractor. I never did take up any farming simulator games....
