Assigning a gate

is it possible when when adding a flight plane i normally import from navigraph using clipboard to assign the gate you will be given when you land at the arrival air port i know the gate may be in use when i get there

but wanting to just have an idea of where i will be taxing to

yes. What I have been doing is entering an arrival airport and gate before pressing fly now. Once landed it will give you a ribbon taxi route to that gate

I was wondering if p2a could do that as you can request taxi instructions from the ground staff

You can ask for taxi instructions to"the gate" or to a specific gate after you land. If you ask for "the gate" it will give you instructions to the closet gate from where you are. there isn't any way to request a specific gate when at departure airport that I know of.

Is this specific to Navigraph?  

I have not seen where you can pre-select gate in MSFS?

I use Simbrief to import flt plan to p2atc.  I don't see option to pre-select gate?

it has nothing to do with Navigraph.

You can pre-select an arrival gate with the MSFS sim interface on the flight planning screen, this will no be recognized by P2Atc.  

You can not 'preselect' any gates within Simbrief.
