Cowl Flaps

Recommended Posts

Operating the cowl flaps from an axis on a joystick moves the cowl flaps on the engines in outside view, but the levers don't move, not in VC view nor in 2D view.

When I move the cowl flaps with the mouse  in 2D-view to all open and then look at it in VC view they are not fully open. If I then move them even further in VC view and look at them in 2D view, the lever position did not change, just the marker disappeared.

In FSUIPC I have assigned the throttle lever on a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro to axis Cowl Flap1 Set, Cowl Flap2 Set, Cowl Flap3 Set and Cowl Flap4 Set. This works with any aircraft.

Now in the Clipper this animates the cowl flaps in outside view but does not change lever positions.

Okay, so it's a slider as I suspected it might be. I had only allowed for the cowl flaps to be assigned to a switch/button, so that's why you're getting strange results. I'll look into it.

Ok. No worries, thats's fine, just wanted to report it.

Still have to find out if the flaps, when opened by the slider, really get open, thus cooling the engine.

Try using "(L:vcCowlFlaps1LeverPos, number)"  from 0 to 100 instead.

and of course vcCowlFlaps2LeverPos, vcCowlFlaps3LeverPos, vcCowlFlaps4LeverPos

Works for me

Are you really sure 😉

Fixed (I think). I'll ask my tester to take a look as he uses FSUIPC and I don't. The reason for that is I have to assume some users will not have it. Also don't forget that there are eight fixed positions on the B-314 so you can't set them to any position you want: it has to be one of those eight.

Yes, the cowl flaps open and cool the engines when moved by the joystick lever.
