Add on Aircraft

Featured Replies

In 4.5 to what directory do add on aircraft install? Have A2A Bonanza installed but it didn't go to Simobjects. I want to add some Carenados.

Thanks

Gary, most addon aircraft come with an installer that automates the install process.  Besides the traditional install process, there's the xml method introduced with P3Dv4.  So, the location varies.  If you're interested in more details about this method or want to install or move aircraft, search the forum for the xml add on method.

My Files in the AVSIM Library

Hi Gary

A2A by default installs to your P3D Addons Folder, typically in your "My Documents" Folder. Being XML-based, you can change the location the default install location to any other drive/directory of your choice for the first A2A addon. Subsequent A2A addons will install to the directory that you used for the first A2A install.

Carenado still installs by default to your P3D Root Directory (Simobjects).

Hope this helps

I have Lorby which I have figured out for scenery. The principle reason I enquire is that with most Carenado aircraft the exe to load the panel config for third party avionics is in the aircraft file itself. It looks like I finally have my RXP GTN 750 working right with no atioglxx conflicts. I want to move my favorite twin over, the 421c Golden Eagle and I had RXP GTN 750 in the panel on FSX.

That helps well as I need to get in there to run the third party avionics exe. In this case F1 GTN but I install the RXP GTN instead with no bezel because the F1 bezel is slightly larger.

I want to move my PC-12 over also. I'm anxious to fly a turbine in P3d even though Laminar still does turbines better.

Thanks
