June 21, 20214 yr Well, Wed June 23rd is one month out from the beginning of the Tokyo Olympic games, and that's about the time the serious inflow of Olympic-related cargo begins, and the initial ramp-up of passenger traffic (officials, teams, support staff, and in other years, spectators). Since the '96 Atlanta games I have made it sort of a simming tradition here to fly a bunch of cargo and pax flights into the venue...having been to most of the places IRL it fires the memory neurons back up and gives a sort of a sense of being there (or maybe just have-been there). So, in that spirit, I've got Tokyo in my sights. I've got Drzewiecki's RJAA (Toyko Narita) and a modded Technobrain RJTT (Toyko Haneda) queued-up...any other decent Tokyo-area additions to improve the area in P3Dv5? The commercial Tokyo city-scenery options I've looked at didn't really serve to inspire. Anyone know of any freeware or out-of-the-mainsteam stuff to investigate? Landclass improvements? June 21, 20214 yr w6kd The Japan scenery community was very strong in FSX days. Unfortunately most have gone or closed up or whatever. FSXManiacs was one group, they did the best airport scenery - all Japanese, I have ever seen, simply exquisite works of art and detail of just about all the Japanese airports, I kept them all and they have all ported across to P3D without any problems atall , alas they are no longer there but there are some of their airports still about under FSX scenery in various libaries. Most were by subscription to them and they gave it to you via email link but they are gone I am sorry to say. They also like to do airports in way out locations around the globe they obviously took a holiday at and there are a few of those about in some libraries. A web search for FSX Maniacs may bring up something but I have not tried since the links went dead. FlightInfo japan still has some stuff but they seem to have shifted to MSFS. (Link: FLIGHT INFO ). They were always Japanese language only which could make things tricky. There is also this one but limited output (FSシーナリー工房 - Kochi Airport for FSX (fsscenery.net)) You could also try this one: FLYER : Flyer Scenery Factory (livedoor.jp) If you can navigate your way around this Japanese site there is a lot of good stuff too: P3Dv5 (oo7.jp) www,freewarescenery.com under Japan still has a good listing but there are many dead links now. If you can find anything by FSXManiacs you will find a gem. I kept all the Japanese scenery for this period it was all FSX not much help I know but it all went into P3DV5 without any issues at all. Best I can offer.
June 21, 20214 yr Author There's some stuff on the 007.jp site for Tokyo that looks intriguing. Thanks!
