VR Head-Tracking Juddery

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Performed a complete new install of 5.2 and am disappointed with the lack of smoothness in my Odyssey +.

I can push 100+ fps in 2D and 45+ in WMR.

If I hold my head straight, the sim is smooth as glass.

If I use the hat switch to look around I have no juddering at all.

Move my head and it becomes unflyable.

All SteamVR settings are default and all SteamVR titles are tracking smoothly (Aerofly FS2, Project Cars 2, Assetto Corsa).

I have cleared shaders, rebuilt the .cfg file and tried every setting from low to maxxed with no change in the head tracking.

i7-9700K @ 4.6, 16GB RAM, 2080 Super, Odyssey +.

Any advice/tips, please?

TIA

Start P3D incl. a scenario

Go to menu VR Settings

Set VR Mode to single pass and render mode to Update instead of pre-render

And the "update" setting resolved it.

Thank you so much, Marcus!
