Anyone see any Live Traffic

Featured Replies

I see plenty of it on the east coast USA.     You can tell if it's a real life flight by it's callsign being an ICAO code.         https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_airline_codes

For example,   United Airlines flight 357 = UAL357

Southwest Airlines flight 420 =  SWA5420

The others with more random names, are mostly other humans.

I have a theory that the Sim only registers the bigger flights, i was at KLAX earlier and saw a fair few real live planes coming and going but they were all jet liners. The smaller private/medium size/GA aircraft in FlightAware never showed up (even though they had flight plans).

I also dropped the Aircraft at airports slider to zero but that didn't seem to make any difference, this is certainly an area that needs improvement and at least the option to show as much live traffic as it's possibly feasible.

This is because Asobo is being given data streams with missing data.    For a real world aircraft to appear in game it has to have an active transponder with altitude,  It has to have an active flight plan with origin and destination.   This was mentioned in one of their Dev videos a while ago,  here is Seb's answer.
