June 26, 20214 yr I started trying Live Traffic 2 days ago, and I have yet to see any aircraft around major airports. Does it actually work?
June 26, 20214 yr Barely. Look in settings to see if you're allowing installed aircraft/liveries to be used as AI traffic. Or setting might be in the "aircraft.cfg." -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
June 26, 20214 yr Yes. A good deal of it evident as well due to the contrails. However, not in this newest sim. June 26, 20214 yr Author Well I take it back, the flight I just finished, going into KDTW, there were around 6 Live Traffic aircraft on approach.
June 26, 20214 yr Yeah my airports and sky's have been pretty busy over Europe. Just a pity about the liveries, wasn't the France world update / sim update 4 supposed to bring more models? June 26, 20214 yr I rarely see live traffic, and when I have any it usually makes unrealistic movements, this is for me the most disappointing part of the sim - since we had much better traffic in FSX.

Perhaps if we each reinstalled the Aviators Club and Kenmore liveries there might be more LOL! Another question. Is MSFS traffic affected at all by the Multiplayer setting? June 27, 20214 yr In the UK, I've not been seeing a great deal of 'live traffic'. I guess that's just due to the fact that there hasn't been that much of it as a result of the Wuhan Virus. I see some regional flights which seem to mirror the arrivals and departures boards at my local airports. They show up quite clearly on Littlenavmap and I can just hover over them with the mouse to identify them (I can't abide traffic, airport or POI labels in the sim as it makes it so unrealistic - am I the only one?). June 27, 20214 yr I see Live Traffic but not all Live traffic, when I compare to FlightAware I see 2 or 3 in my vicinity in Sim but there's about 10 in the app. So the Sim doesn't pick up on all Live Traffic it seems, maybe a setting relates to this but I've yet to dive in deeper to find out if that is the case. June 27, 20214 yr I get a lot more traffic in the US than most other countries. But it also seems to depend on the region. Like sometimes if I'm sitting at Haneda in Japan I'll see a lot coming and going, but when I'm actually flying over the country I'll see very little. Edited June 27, 20214 yr by Tuskin38
June 27, 20214 yr I have a theory that the Sim only registers the bigger flights, i was at KLAX earlier and saw a fair few real live planes coming and going but they were all jet liners. The smaller private/medium size/GA aircraft in FlightAware never showed up (even though they had flight plans). I also dropped the Aircraft at airports slider to zero but that didn't seem to make any difference, this is certainly an area that needs improvement and at least the option to show as much live traffic as it's possibly feasible. I was flying into KORD this morning, and on short final with the DC6, and a 777 flew right over the top of me, when I was about 800 feet agl. It missed me by about 100 feet That woke me up.
