June 30, 20214 yr Another Covid special I've just gotten around to flying a bit more, this one is the Carenado Embraer Brasilia 120 and is a very nice looking plane with quite good features. Version is 1.3. I was motivated based on an Air Crash Investigations (MayDay) episode covering the 1991 Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 2311 where a failure of the prop control gear allowed the prop to overspeed causing the prop blades to not feather and instead the blades went to a flat 3 degrees resulting in roll and loss of control with a not survivable crash. Not that such an intricate type of fail is simulatable on my home PC, and in any case the RL root issue was resolved and cannot happen again but I thought an engine out would be a good one to trial. So start off flying along nicely. The fires starts, and warnings and alarms start going off in the cockpit. The fire lever does put out the fire successfully, but I cannot restart the engine. The plane starts rolling to the left, not uncontrollably and at least the blades are feathered successfully. Now looking for the nearest airport to put it down, and at this point I save the flight to come back to it when I next fly (for the challenge of landing). Cheers Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too. July 2, 20214 yr Really unfortunate accident....!! I have this (Carenado) Brasilia, and, yes, I too like this SIM and its textures very much..., though, I checked, I've only the V1.1 version...not this latest V1.3 which, I read, also allows integration of the RXP GTN750 into the [VC]... Will update my version...thanks...!!
