July 6, 20214 yr AFAIK the restriction are prop/engine combo related, they are not airframe specific. Fit a different aftermarket prop or change engine types and the restrictions will change. So for example an older Cherokee With a hollow crank O-360-A3A and standard prop has the 2150 to 2350 RPM restriction but the same airframe and prop with the solid crank O-360-A4A has no RPM restriction. Note that some Lycomings come with counterweights which can effect the "red arc" but this will probably not remove any low speed harmonic restrictions. https://www.lycoming.com/sites/default/files/O-HO-IO-HIO-AIO %26 TIO-360 Oper Manual 60297-12.pdf https://www.lycoming.com/sites/default/files/SI1012L Counterweights and Rollers.pdf Quote Counterweight System – Models designated by the numeral 6 in the suffix of the model number (Example: O-360-A1G6) are equipped with crankshafts with pendulum type counterweights attached.
