July 4, 20214 yr Hello, I recently decided to try pilot2atc. I was going to just purchase but then decided to try the trial to see if I like it. I am trying to avoid using a mic if possible. I could not find a thread for this issue or any help on the internet. The app seems to work fine in all aspects, flight planning, connecting to the sim etc. However, when clicking the ? button to use the say it feature, I get no drop down menus. They are just blank. I cannot find any videos that target this problem. Only video avail is how to use it. I did notice in the video that in the speech box, his said "grammers loaded", which mine does not. It only says "connected". Am I missing a file, a setting or do I need to download something else?
July 4, 20214 yr I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that you have to have a mic. Even if you don't use it. You can get away without one but I believe the software wants to see you have one. Stick with it, P2A is great imo.
July 5, 20214 yr Commercial Member Yes, you do have to have a Mic installed and set as the primary Windows Sound Input device. When fully connected, there will be 3 aqua colored lines in the speech window, with the last one being "Grammars Loaded" . If they are not there, you are not fully connected and speech recognition and SayIt will not work. Here are the key items to check if not fully connecting: 1. Be sure you are connected to the internet. It must be a reliable connection. 2. If it seems to partially connect but the Connect button does not turn Green, set the Weather option to a different source such as NOAA Real Time Weather and try again. 3. English-US Language installed and set as Primary Language 4. Working Microphone installed and set as Default Sound Input device in Windows 5. Valid Call Sign – Try using the default call sign of Mfg: Beech; Tail Number: N431VB. Press the Save button. Dave
