  1. I open Little NavMap with the google maps addon. Just look around in there as its much nicer than the MSFS world map. Pick an airport for departure, choose something in the sort of range I want and check the distance. Once I'm happy with that I put it into simbrief to get an actual plan. I don't currently use Little NavMap for anything other than that. Sometimes I'll leave it open to track the flight but Pilot2ATC does that anyway. I've also used this https://fsdailies.azurewebsites.net/ in the past to just pick something random for me. Or as an idea to set something up myself.
  2. My mobo specifically can have issues with keeping the high e.g. 3200 speed when you add another 2 to take it to 4. I don't know if thats common or not, but the board and memory I have certainly are (corsair vengeance and msi tomahawk b4550 max).
  3. No I know they don't have to be to work. I mean they have to be if you want a good chance of keeping the highest frequency.
  4. A bit more digging and it sounds like perhaps it will work if the sticks are identical. Perhaps a risk I'll take some time.
  5. Yeah as you say it's just in certain places the green looks wild. It's incredible a lot of the time also. I think I'll try adjusting with software like you instead of the whole monitor 🙂
  6. Thanks but everything I've read for my tomahawk b450 suggests adding another 2 sticks would mean lowering the frequency.
  7. I really didn't like the over saturated almost luminous green everywhere so i turned down the colours on my monitor.
  8. I've got 4 slots, but it's only fast dual channel speed I believe if you only use 2 of them. So I would have been slowing the existing ram down to get more with 4 sticks, or paying too much for it replacing with 16x2.
  9. Class Echo looks great but too expensive by the time you've sourced all the bits. https://shakeprint.com/
  10. If I could have just bought another 2x8 to go with what I have I'd have upgraded already, but taking the existing 2x8 perfectly good mem out just to get dual channel for me was too expensive (around £150) when most people seem to say it doesn't make a huge difference.
  11. I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that you have to have a mic. Even if you don't use it. You can get away without one but I believe the software wants to see you have one. Stick with it, P2A is great imo.
  12. I had so much trouble with voicemeeter on my system. Distorted sound randomly happening a lot, no matter what device or settings I tried. Doesn't work very well when you have other users who don't understand it either in my opinion. I found an even easier way which works well enough. My monitors both have weak little tinny speakers as most do. I told Pilot2ATC to use one of them along with the static file. My well balanced music and game sounds use my proper speakers. There are also windows sound enhancements per sound device you can use. Although I think the main radio quality came from the basic rubbishness of the monitor speakers, I also played around with frequency cutoff etc.
  13. If it was 90% accurate I would definitely not bother paying for different data. It feels like almost every approach I randomly pick lately is missing ILS or RNAV I want to use to catch glide.
  14. I just realised before catching up here that I can get the navigraph data without charts and thats not so costly. So I thought I'd try it. The issues don't end there. Maybe I'm just unlucky which airports I've been picking 🙂 YSBU removed old runways and put a new one in very recently. So even with LNM, PILOT2ATC and MSFS using the latest Navigraph data, it messed up because the runway doesn't yet exist in MSFS graphically etc. Unless I'm missing something. Regarding what you're saying/asking @Matchstick, I agree and would simply ask for clarity on what we can expect going forward. If it's the intention or ever going to be possible to be fairly accurate on runways/approaches without paying for third party data. If not, what value has the MSFS stock AIRAC 2106 update?
  15. I should say I realise the things I'm saying my example airports are missing are probably not even accurate or possibly there now. YBSU doesn't have a 18/36 runway now, they use 13/31 but MSFS doesn't have that either. This is just comparing MSFS to 1801 Navigraph which is what comes with LNM and I think Pilot2ATC. MSFS regularly seems to be very lacking, not just different.
