July 8, 20214 yr I just recently ordered a DisplayPort cord to replace my old HDMI that I have been using which should allow HDR and G-Sync capabilities of my graphics card. Is there any benefit in running G-Sync with an older monitor that doesn't support G-Sync? Its a 43" Samsung that is about 3-4 years old.
July 8, 20214 yr If the monitor doesn't have hardware gsync / freesync then turning on gsync wont do anything vatsim s3
July 8, 20214 yr Author Turns out my monitor doesn't have a DisplayPort connection...the DisplayPort cord will not work. So, I am still unable to enable HDR in Windows 10, FS2020 or on my Samsung TV. The HDMI cable that I currently use is very old, not sure what version it is. Is a HDMI 2.1 required to enable HDR at 4K resolution? I have ordered an HDMI 2.1 to try, but is there something else I am missing to enable HDR?

July 8, 20214 yr Author Yes, the TV has HDR and it works when I change the TV's input source to something other than the computer. When I change the input source back to the computer the HDR option on the TV is grayed out.
