For those who missed my announcement yesterday, there is a new update V6 for seasons to work with SU5. 

The old version does not work with SU5

I have submitted the new patch to Marketplace to update seasons but that might take them couple of weeks to update them. You can request a patch from me via email [email protected]

For Simmarket, new version 6 is already available to download.

In Sim Update 5, trees colors are based on sRGB monitor profile color and following changes in UserCfg.opt file.

This settings also helps with the new introduced overexposure problem is Sim update 5 which causes clouds to be overexposed and washed out:

EyeAdaptation 0
ColorGrading 0
Sharpen 0

As mentioned before, Tree LOD is now fixed, but if you want to extend the LOD, you may extend the terrain and object LOD without losing too much FPS Since the performance has been increased.
Extending these numbers is now much more effective than SU4.

I recommend these settings. Feel free to adjust these depending on your performance.

Version 6 update log:

Compatibility with Sim Update 5. Older season version will not work with sim update 5.
Some of the tree size in every city in the world is reduced to work better with photogrammetry mode on.
Added color variety to trees and shrubs.
3000 Dragon blood trees added in Socotra Island, Yemen. (in the mountains from Hadiboh toward south.
Bora Bora update. Now all huts are complete on the island.
New Zealand - Updated trees in south east regions.
New Zealand - Custom fall season colors for Nelson city and ArrowTown.
Removed trees from ships and bridges in USS Lexington, TX
Removed trees from ships in San Diego ports.
Update giant redwood trees in Yosemite. GPS: 36.45199953879019, -118.6120654751701
Innsbruck, LOWI winter trees are now part of winter season in the same folder.

I updated as you suggested from simmarket to version 6 as well as the 3d models V1.7 and the sim will not load. It loads about 1/2 way and then stops just like it did with the older versions. I removed the files from my community folder and it loaded fine. So something is conflicting.

Make sure you delete the older version. No one is having the issue anymore with new update..

The sim not loading could be other issues as many reported and I don't think it's related to season mod. There was a whole thread about it. I would try again.

Yes... only southern part of Africa is winter.

Notice the orange part in southern Africa. That's where winter is. Middle part of it is tropical and northern part is desert.
