The SU5 CTD Survival Guide

Featured Replies

Hmm, some good advice but I'd question some it.   You tell users to use the 787 but only Premium Deluxe users have that.  I'd suggest something like the default C172 G1000 is better for testing, as it's a simpler aircraft.

Using MSI Afterburner for anything, while MSFS was running, was causing CTDs for me.  I personally don't think getting into temps is necessary to work towards a stable installation that won't CTD.    Temps is more about trying to overclock, push for higher settings etc.

My simpler guidance would be:-

  1. To follow your good advice about unplugging/replugging USBs (with MSFS not running)
  2. To follow your advice about having a completely empty Community folder
  3. To ensure 3pd background programs like MSI Afterburner, Process Lasso, GPU-Z, etc, are not running
  4. To set 'Medium' global setting is MSFS (initially just for stability testing)
