Window Store install - drive not shown?

Featured Replies

I purchased the sim from the Microsoft Store and when I am presented with the drive list, I am not seeing my G: drive.

This drive is a fast external SSD on USB3.1.  Every other game I own is installed on this drive and performance has not been an issue, and that's with major AAA titles like CyberPunk and AC: Valhalla on it.

I have no other option ... I won't have enough on C which my OS SSD, and D is a mechanical drive and will be too slow.

I see the drive in Windows Explorer.

Does your intended drive have at least 123 GB available?

Yes that is shown in the lower images, all 3 drives.  I want it on the G drive which has around 400 GB free.

I just wondered why the 123.0 GB is in red?  Personally I would not attempt to fly MSFS through a USB 3.1 connection, but admittedly I have not attempted to do so.

It's because the C drive is currently selected which only has 84.1.  If I hover over D is turns green.

The problem is there is no G.  According to the documentation, on the 3.1 Gen 2 interface this drive supports extremely high transfer rates compared to the mechanical D drive, which FS has no problem installing on.

With Samsung V-NAND flash memory and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface, the T5 provides transfer speeds of up to 540 MB/s

No other extremely heavy IO games like Cyberpunk 2077 cause an issue, they only get limited by my GPU and CPU.

I suppose I'll ask Microsoft support :)
