August 8, 20214 yr Hi all. Does anybody know, that when using live weather, if the sim constantly updates during long flights? Or do we need to go in weather settings from time to time, and update manually? i9 RTX 4090 64gb ram

It's not actually live, it's a global prediction model that is based on real world data. So when it changes, it changes according to the predictions in MSFS's model. So no need to update anything. Think of it like a global weather simulation, that is just there and evolves (for a lack of a better term). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I think you have misunderstood too: MSFS live weather is based on METARs, it is no a prediction model and it is based locally where you plan to fly, while flying the METAR is updated. In the last hotfix ASOBO corrected a problem of a METAR interpretation on reading the right temperatures. The depiction itself of the live meteo is another business. Anyway, the live meteo is updating automatically, no need to push any update button. Just fly and forget it. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
