Grravel Dash in the Pyrenees

Featured Replies

Todays Flight departs from Pau / Pyrenees Airport ( LFBP ).  From here we have a short hop south to Mirepeix ( LFVQ ) to dust off the cobwebs with a gentle grass runway. Continuing south into the foothills we fly to Argeles-Gazost Airport ( LFJN ). Next leg is a bit more complex , flying west to the town of Argeles-Gazost then turning south up a valley until we reach the town of  Luz San-Sauveur where we turn NNE and continue up the valley to Col du Tourmalet (passing our next Airport) . We then turn north and climb aggressively to circle the Pic Du Midi de Bigorre Observatory . After completing the circuit we dive back down the valley to land at Castillon De La Laquette Airport ( LFMB ) . Departing to the north we turn west for a short distance before turning south and climbing up towards Lac de Cap de Long ( the first of three high altitude Dammed reservoirs ) continuing East over the Pla d` Adet Ski Resort to land at Balestas (LFIP) (like a mini Courcheval) . Simple leg East next to  Bagneres de Luchon ( LFCB ). Next if a longish leg heading SE following a river Valley down to Seo de Urgel (LESU ) . Heading north next into Andorra following the main highway passing the main City on to the famous ski destinations of Soldeu and Pas de la Casa . Spectacular roads here . Continuing on back into France we head South to Sainte Leocadie ( LFYS ). Three short hops follow, La Quillane ( LFNQ ) then Col de la Marrano Airport ( LFRA ) and Puivert ( LFNW ) .  Our final leg takes us a short distance to Les Pujols  (LFDJ )
