August 12, 20214 yr One of my favourite things in the sim is to get something like the Gravel, or the Ryan, or similar, and just go exploring not far off treetop height in a part of the world chosen more or less at random. In this case I took the Gravel out from Syracuse, KSYR (which is not shown here but is very well done in the sim) and headed vaguely south for maybe 30 - 40 miles, just spotting the countryside (which, as an aside, is one of Stephen Fry's more amusing definitions - "Countryside - the killing of Piers Morgan"). Eventually putting down into a little strip - Courtland Co-Chase (N03). Great scenery all the way, plenty of trees and valleys and a rather fine looking place to settle, if the sim is in any way accurate. I do so love this feeling of "gentle exploration" - the big dramatic stuff is great as well, but sometimes just a gentle pootle across a nice bit of greenery is just the ticket. Whoever said "it's a small world" has obviously never tried to fly over it all at tree height. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
