Bell 47 + T-Flight Hotas X - problems w/ directional control

Featured Replies

I bought the Bell 47G helicopter from FlyInside and I've just been having a blast with it, using my old Thrustmaster T16000M FCS joystick.

In fact, since I bought it I haven't flown in anything else.

But I wanted a finer sense of throttle control and rudders that are completely separate from the joystick, so I bought a new Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X.

Here's my problem in a nutshell and I am hoping there's an easy fix:

There are 4 directions, (obviously,) Forward, Back, Left and Right.  Two of them are just fine and two are not.

Specifically:
Pushing the stick forward makes the stick on the 47G go to the right - Bad
Pushing the stick back makes the stick on the 47G go back - Good
Pushing the stick left makes the stick on the 47G go to the left - Good
Pushing the stick right makes the stick on the 47G go forward - Bad

Forward = Right = Bad
Back = Back = Good
Left = Left = Good
Right = Forward = Bad

EDIT: I just loaded up the Cessna 140 just for laughs and the Hotas X is having the same problem with the yoke on that airplane, and in the same way.  So it's not the Bell 47G, it's the settings for the Hotas, and yes, they are set to default.

If someone can clue me in as to how to remedy this situation I would be very much in your debt.

Thanks.

additional information

The elevator should be here (Joystick ?-Axis Y)

Aileron should be: Joystick ?-Axis X)

You may have to reverse either or both X and Y if they move in  the wrong direction.

Get rid of whatever MSFS set as default assignments for Elevator Axis and Aileron Axis, and use these that you make yourself instead.

You could also use SENSITIVITY to tone down the effect of stick movements and make the stick controls more gentle (both of the two Sensitivities made more negative, and a positive Extremity Deadzone to cut off extreme control surface movements.

It wouldn't be the Xbox/PC switch, would it?
