Just wanted to give interested viewers some real world usage figures and my observations.

I have had 1000 Mb's (1Gb) Download and 40 Mb's Upload service for three days, that replaced my 360 Mb's Download and 30 Mb's Upload plan.

As of today, not 2 minutes ago:

Download from the Internet direct connection to my computer:

945.8 Mb's per second

Uploads 39.7 Mb's

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wireless Downloads at 5G ):

590 Mb's (to my Cell Phone) at 5G

Wireless Downloads at 2.4G

66.7 Mb's (to my Cell Phone) at 2.4G

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Direct Cable Modem connection to my computer:

When calling up a website, at 1 GB's Download Service) not even a second!    Pages and content comes like a shotgun blast to the screen, no perceived time interval to come up and coalesce.

Downloading files at approximately 0.9 Gb's a second!!!!

Personal recommendation,   is going to 1 GB service download speed, overkill?  NOT ON YOUR LIFE!  NOT ON YOUR LIFE!   I can never go back to even my (what I thought was great...my old 360 Mb download speed).  Even from that...the Internet performance for both web browsing, forum browsing...and livestream (MSFS) and file downloads.... between even those two, is unbelievable in speed, time savings and performance differentials!  Pretty much consider a 1Gb Service as 'Instant Service'. Yeah, that's what I would also feel free and honest to call it....

Post Edit:  I also called my ISP and asked why I am 'only' (what a laugh to even think that!!! LOL) getting consistent 945/947 Mb's per second,  mean average per Speed Test, and not 1000 Mb's per second, ---> and the agent said that Cable  Broadband can only put out, (carry)  currently max, 945/950 Mb's constant download to date.  "So sir, you are getting a completely non-throttled and full max, Cable Broadband download performance"   "Thanks, wanted to just understand that."  So...if you have Cable, and you decide to 'dive in'...if you get 945/950 Mb's per second,  mean average Speed Tests results, you are FULL THROTTLE Cable Broadband....rev the download engine...and get to town!

Cheers,

Ses
