Shoreham is one of the oldest airports in the UK and the world.  It goes back to before WW1 and has a proud history in both wars.  It has some great heritage features.  Cheers.

I'm not too far from Lewes (just down the road) so I know this airport very well. The main building is gorgeous in its art-deco style. I have a lesson booked there next week too :))

I flew one of my lessons from Elstree to Shoreham.  Had a bacon sarney and a cuppa in that lovely building.

Thanks guys.  I am so annoyed with myself that when I was last in the UK with my wife a few years ago (am from Melbourne, Australia) we were so close to Shoreham but did not visit as I did not know about it then. Perhaps  I was lucky because she was probably sick of aviation and WW2 after all the Battle of Britain etc museums I dragged her to - you have so many and I love them all!  Cheers.
