Airbus A400M in US colors...

The former isn't actually true. Some do, some don't. Eurofighter was originally ordered not to be, and the change to the engine design so it could be was one of the causes of cost and time overrun on the project. The gun argument was just silly. How much time and money did they really waste, just to prove that the best ballast to replicate the size, weight and cost of the gun was the gun itself? And then some moronic MP turned round and said that they should take the firing pin out to prevent them being used if they were fitted!!! (At least the tabloid headline writers got to have fun with that one...)I hadn't heard the ammo one before, but not issuing cannon shells is an utterly pointless exercise. Of course they'll be obtained using some method. They're also an absolute pittance in terms of cost compared to most training ordinance, let alone live weapons.Ian P.

The Chilean news media is reporting that their Air Force has decided against buying the A-400M, opting instead to refurbish and retain their fleet of C-130s.Scarebus Industrie just dropped another poop in the punchbowl with an announcement of yet another string of delays on the A380. EADS stock took a 34% hit...in one day...as a result. Singapore Airlines is lining up their legal team to execute some very nasty penalty provisions written into their A380 delivery contract. They have also just announced their intent to buy 20 Boeing 787-9s with an option for 20 more.Quite an interesting reality check, I think.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Yep, You all better dump that dog stock (EADS) of theirs too, this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better, IMHO.http://iracs.isg.de/eads/2005/chart_en_2005.htmhttp://quote.morningstar.com/Quote/Quote.aspx?ticker=BADoesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out this trend....Boeing is going to clean up after all this is said and done, but hey that's only my opinion, and not fact. :)I will add I had a very Pleasant flight from LAX to Calgary and back for a week on business.
