September 19, 20214 yr Usually I can tune the CDI to GPS but seems I don't even have a flightplan loaded. I'm trying the Copenhagen bush trip....in fact maybe its an issue with the G1000 NXi - just thought this could be it? Thomas Derbyshire
September 19, 20214 yr The GPS is not intended to be used for bush flights, which is why there is no flight plan. They are intended to be flown with the directions given in the flight log. They are set up to be old-school navigation tests (pilotage and dead reckoning). When the NXI mod was first released, they mistakenly left it active in bush trips, but corrected that in a later release. September 19, 20214 yr Author Not true, you CAN fly them that way but previously the flight plan was loaded and had the POI1, POI2, POI3 etc. I used to fly them with AP on GPS and treated it as a sightseeing tour. Now the flightplan is not loaded with anything at all. Not sure when this happened, I don't fly them all the time. Thomas Derbyshire
September 19, 20214 yr Moderator I've found them to be inconsistent in this. Some have a fp linked to the GPS, other not. IMHO, if the trip is for sightseeing then the GPS and AP should be active. If it's for training, then no. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Nevertheless I think it is completely pointless. If they want us not to use the GPS on the bush trips they should give us the Savage Cub or the C152. But when they give us e.g. a C172 or a C208 they should also enable the GPS. Everything else is inconsistent and unrealistic. I really dislike that "feature'". I wish the NXI would revert back to the "bug" where the flightplan in the GPS was enabled. At least allow us to tweak it that way optionally. Edited September 19, 20214 yr by RALF9636
