CTD's MCE + PF3 + FBW 32NX

Featured Replies

I have mid-flight CTD's lately since installing MCE + PF3 to work together to have a complete immersion.

Have to find out where the CTD is coming from.

Seems quite difficult to determine what causes it ...

Don't really know where to start ... 🤔

Regards.

As soon as a CTD occurs, search Windows (magnifying glass on toolbar) type Event Viewer.

When it comes up click on Windows Logs, then Applications.

In the middle window, scroll down until you find error and look at the descriptions. It should identify the program / DLL that caused the crash.

Might give a clue as to the issue. I previously had CTDs due to Graphic timeout errors, where windows thinks graphic card has stopped responding and resets it. Found it by looking in Event Viewer as above.

Both MCE (mce.exe) and PF3 (pf3.exe) run as external programs. Like any program, they might misbehave, but unlikely to bring down the sim. You would just need to restart them

What can CTD the sim is the stuff in \Community\ folder because they would run in "flightsimulator.exe process, especially things that hack into the core sim, like the toolbar and such.

If you want to rule out MCE, go to \community\ folder and only leave

FlyBywire dev edition folder

Any other aircraft folder

Scenery folders

fsuipc-lvars-module

Temporarily move everything else out of community folder, including livery folders that may not be fully compatible with the plane they were designed for.

Then add PF3 to the mix.

Thanks for the reply.

That's what I thought.

Removed all mods (except FBW 320). Started flight together with MCE. Flight went OK.

Now I will also add PF3. Should work also, I guess.

A certain mod gave the CTD, as predicted.

Thanks.
