HDR Question

Featured Replies

Hi folks. I use a monitor that supports HDR for MSFS. I set HDR on in Display Properties in Windows 10. Then I start MSFS and the colors are waaay off (purple, pink, etc.).

But if I turn off HDR in Windows for that monitor and then turn it on again once MSFS is up, then everything looks correct.

Can anyone explain this particular behavior?

Thanks..... Rob

Sounds like the game is not recognising you are in HDR mode.   At this point you need to go into Options - General - Display  within MSFS and switch the HDR slider across to ON .   You only need to do it the once.

HDR is on in the game. Once I restart the HDR in Windows it seems ok.

Sounds like the typical Win10 sillyness that crops up with their very poor HDR implementation.

MSFS since SU5 has in general worked a lot better with HDR. Pre-SU5 weird stuff would happen.

I see this at times if I start the game with HDR off.  (I usually run with it on, but sometimes turn it off so it's easier to take quick screenshots).   I don't know if the same thing will work for you, but what fixes it for me pretty quickly is just going into the FS settings and turning HDR on and back off again.  Maybe you could try the reverse.
