Norwegian Air Shuttle

Featured Replies

Hi Ray,

Just a quick one,is Norwegian Air Shuttle listed as one of the airlines in RC because if it is i cant seem to find it,

if it isnt is there anyway to include it.

With Thanks

Gary Jones.

Hi Gary,

No it isn't. The only way to include it is to record it using the RCWavUtil.exe in the script subfolder. You would need to record for each voice set - Pilot and Controller. Obviously it would be a different voice to the others. Technically possible but not really recommended.

Gary, yes, odd indeed. If you have suitable skills you could take the "NOR" from noreast.wav and "SHUTTLE" from shuttle.wav and create a new wav file.

That would give you "Nor Shuttle" in the original voices. Audacity is a freeware program which could do it. As far as I can see providing you saved the file in the same format - 11kHz, 8-bit - it would work fine. Name the file norshuttle.wav although it's not critical.

Okay. If I get bored I might give it a crack just to see how it ends up.

Thanks for that Ray that would be great,i think you may have alot of time on your hands with all the DXGI_DEVICE_HUNG errors that you are getting with P3Dv5,

im following the comments on the P3d Avsim P3D Forum and im not installing the recently purchased v5 until the issue is resloved, flight sim is about enjoyment not

worrying if your going to experiance the crash,v 4.5 is so stable for me even with a slightly overclocked GPU.

Gary, it is a bit of a pain but v5 performance is better than v4 so I’m sticking with it.

Retirement has its benefits. 😉

As a suggestion to the audio edit and not to sound like a know-it-all.

I did the first ten controllers and found using "norseman" and "shuttle" is an easier edit. Lopping off "man" and fading the "S" into "SH".

I'll knock some more out. They can be found here as a reference.

Let me know if the link is broken.

They sound great, thank you very much.

Gary.

Okay... I had some time while watching football (American) last night and I was able to edit all of them.

Here is a zip file with a readme.txt.

Norwegian Air Shuttle

As the readme states, you need to add this line to the c4.csv file in the "...\rcv4x\data\" folder under Northwest Airlines.

Norshuttle,Norshuttle,Norwegian Air Shuttle - Norway,1, 0

I've tested it with RC4 and P3dv5 at Oslo airport and it recognized my AI as well.

Hope this helps.

Jim

P.S. I edited the original install files and not the meatwater pack. If you have these installed, the Norshuttle files may sound a little different.

@jmelvin64, great piece of work. Many thanks! 👏

Just a word of warning to others. Always use Notepad or Notepad+ to edit Radar Contact csv files. Never use Microsoft Excel. It will corrupt the file format.

@jmelvin64, Jim, have you considered uploading the zip to the AvSim library so it’s available in perpetuity?
