FBW A320NX engine start up

Featured Replies

I am having a problem with engine star using the latest versions (either one) of the FBW A320NX. I do have APU on, bleed, etc, but cannot start engines. No problem with previous versions. What is odd is that CTRL+E works (I notice that using this standard command, EXT PWR lights goes on as well as Fuel XFEED light).

Does anyone can recommend what I should do to fix this issue? At FBW discord server there are a number of similar reports but I couldn´t find a solution.

Thanks

I tried again with packs off - it seems to work. Yet, this step is not at the checklists.

I just tried it with the latest development version, no issues here. I didn't have to turn off the packs. Are the fuel pumps on? I.e. have you turned off all white lights by pushing the respective buttons in the overhead panel? That's what I forgot a couple of times and prevented the engine from starting up normally for me...

Also just updated to latest version this morning  (Dev) and no issues at all.

Speaking of engine start in the FBW A320... has anyone managed to start an engine without the APU, just using crossbleed from the other (running) engine? Never worked for me, and I have the feeling this hasn't been implemented yet. Or am I missing anything?

Nope, not implemented yet.

Thanks guys for your inputs. Yes, I do have fuel pumps and bleed on. I didn´t have any problems with previous versions. And it puzzles me that CRTL+E works (and using this external power goes on!). Will continue to check and will likely try the usual uninstall/install.

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification! So I can stop trying for now 😉

If you want to follow the development, this is the page for the bleed system overhaul:

feat(bleed): replace default bleed system by BlueberryKing · Pull Request #5384 · flybywiresim/a32nx (github.com)

Once that's finished and merged, you can try again 😄

Ahhh that's really interesting! I'll make sure to follow this, thanks!
