October 17, 20214 yr A problem I have with ActiveSky is getting it to cleanly shut down in a batch file... without it being seen as a forced shutdown If I shut it down using the my Batch file script then the next time I try and load it the ActiveSky startup window flags an error that the last session did not shut down properly If I do this a few times in a day , I get locked out by AS till next day..... This happens in P3D5 and when I start it to feed weather to my EFB for FS20 Thanks for your ideas.... snippet - All the other programs automatically shut down completely when I exit MSFS2020 or P3D5.... (the file waits until FSUIPC7 is not running anymore, executed when sim is shutdown)
October 18, 20214 yr Why even bother with a batch file. Put a link to AS in your task bar and fire it up after loading your sim...then when done, you can simply close the window. works like a charm...no need for techie hoops. Sherm
December 8, 20214 yr Commercial Member If you close ASP3D/ASXP, and it closes properly, you should NOT remain logged in. If you see a disconnect other device message on next login in this case, it means someone else is using your license. If ASP3D/ASXP is force closed or crashes, without closing properly, it is normal to see the disconnect other device message. Usually we see this with force close from autostart programs such as SimStarter. Force close is NOT recommended for ANY software including ours, especially for the reason mentioned above. March 12, 20224 yr Hi everyone, I am using ProSim so I just shut down the simulator through ProSim's Shutdown Sim function on the MAINT page of the FMS. This, of course, "force closes" ASP3D so at the next startup it will say "there is an active session already, do you want to disconnect that session?" Is there a way to make your servers periodically check if the session is indeed still active? That would be great, because we all use different setups and the autostart function, either by batch file or via fsuipc for ASP3D would come in very very handy, not to have to manually start it every time... Thank you!
