Exe.xml help - FS2Crew Control Centre not auto-loading

Featured Replies

I have just reinstalled MSFS. I also reinstalled FS2Crew FBWProject, FS2Crew PBE & the latest FSUIPC7 .  When I run MSFS FS2Crew Control Panel does not automatically open.

I have followed the instructions for checking the exe.xml file and as far as I can see it is correct.  Therefore don't know why i is not opening FS2Crew automatically.

My exe.xml file content is shown below and would appreciate any help to resolve. I have latest FS2Crew Project installed Version 1.0.0.0 and also v1.0.0.0 of WASM

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"><Descr>Launch</Descr><Filename>EXE.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad><Launch.Addon><Disabled>False</Disabled><ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad><Name>FSUIPC7</Name><Path>C:\FSUIPC7\FSUIPC7.exe</Path><CommandLine>-auto</CommandLine><NewConsole>False</NewConsole></Launch.Addon>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>FS2Crew Command Center</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Crew Command Center\FS2CrewCommandCenter.exe</Path>
        <CommandLine></CommandLine>
    </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

It's hard to tell if you EXE.xml is corrupt by looking at it.

It's a very sensitive file... one wrong character and it'll stop working.

Please do this:

1. Delete the EXE xml file.

2. Re-install FS2Crew.

3. Make sure you're using the latest public beta for v1.1 (link is in our forum).

4. FS2Crew will create a fresh new EXE.xml that we know is perfect during the installation procedure.

If the Command Center then loads, you'll know the problem was with a corruption on your EXE.xml.

Hi byork,  Thanks for the response.  I have done all you suggested but FS2Crew Command Center is still not auto opening when I start MSFS.  Is it possible to let me have the text of a known working exe.xml file so I can check against what I have?

Did you delete the EXE.xml?

But if it's not present, when you run the FS2Crew installer, will will auto create the EXE.xml, and it will be perfect.

It should look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
    <Descr>Launch</Descr>
    <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>FS2Crew Command Center</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Crew Command Center\FS2CrewCommandCenter.exe</Path>
        <CommandLine></CommandLine>
    </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

If it looks just like that, try running MSFS with Admin rights.

Glyn907 are saying that FS2Crew does not auto start when booting MSFS2020? I wasn't aware that it does. I have to go to the upper screen panel and run it everytime.

Yes, the Command Centre is supposed to auto-load when MSFS is run. Should see the icon in the Taskbar. There is some info on this here https://fs2crew.com/fs2crew-command-center-troubleshooting/ under the title 'Problem:
The FS2Crew Command Center does not autostart when MSFS loads.  I do not see the FS2Crew Command Center (red airplane nose icon) in the toolbar.'

The Command Center (Red airplane nose) icon will auto start during the MSFS load process.

The Command Center runs in the background in a minimized state.

It's necessary for the FS2Crew Tool Bar integration to work in MSFS.

Hi Byork.

Trust you fine.

I own both the FBW A32NX and the PBE.

I am having issues with the auto load for the command center. In the middle of the loading phase of MSFS I get an error message as follows:

"This is an Error message.

This EXE must remain running while "minimized" for FS2crew command center toolbar to function in MSFS.

To work properly, this EXE should auto load when MSFS loads"

Before writing to you I have tried all the options from the troubleshoot sections ( https://fs2crew.com/fs2crew-command-center-troubleshooting/) but nothing worked. I am still getting the same error message. I have even uninstalled Windows, MSFS2020 and  reinstalled FS2 crew products from the product manager in vain. I really don't know what to do next. I am a bit lost with it.

I have tried the following:

- Uninstalling fs2 crew and manually deleted the FS2crew folders.

- Deactivated my antivirus and firewall.

- Given administrator rights to steam as well as fs2crew.

Could you please help me.

Nothing wrong is happening.

Please read the top line again.  It will say "This is not an error message".  Key word - not.

That's the command center EXE... it needs to run in the background.  Keep it minimized.

ohh God!! I did not even notice the NOT!

You won't believe what happened!! I've been fighting with it for ages as I thought it was an error message.

I was not seeing the red nose icon in the toolbar and I just found the solution: In the custom toolbar setting in msfs2020 the option was off for FS2 crew command center!!!

It now works perfectly.

Thank you very much for your help as usual Byork!

Cheers
