Re-Install from disc version - data transfer error

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have had reason to uninstall and re-install the sim from the original box CD version.

However each time I try I get the following warning and the download from CD to PC crashes:

Default

D:\data3.cab

Data error (cyclic redundancy Check)

Grateful for any advice please?

Hello,

Clean your Dvd !

If you get the same error, try to clean your DVD reader with a DVD cleaning kit

Or, if it's a Store buy, and since you installed it once already, you already redeemed the code, then simply go to the Store account used for the original redeem / install and install the sim online.

It'll ask you only for disk 1 for validation, but the sim will be fetched from the network.

It's an heavy download - be aware .... ( probably the reason why you opted for the DVD version, but I noticed that mine took a long download for the intiial update, so, there wasn't really a noticeable advantage on having it in DVDs...

many thanksfor the advice guys. i have opted to use the download from my store accont and dump the disc version.

It took many hours but the sim is back on my pc.

just need to see now whether the bugs in the TBM / C208 that caused me to uninstall in the first place are cured.......
