November 3, 20214 yr Hi guys, I have three 4k tv's in view group management setup. Middle one viewing forward and side monitors approximately 60 degrees Sideview. I'm always struggling to save views and get agood look at the upper panel using the default view management (a /shift a etc). Is it possible to use chaseplane or ezdok for that? If only the middle monitor works that wouldn't be a problem I'm just fed up with the continuously self resetting views....each time I run p3dv5 I have to adjust all my views. as I mentioned I have p3dv5 and fly only pmdg 737ngxu. Edit: I do have VR and also xplane, msfs etc..etc.. I'm just looking for a p3dv5 triple screen solution 😉😉 thanks for your thoughts! Jozeff Edited November 3, 20214 yr by jozeff
November 4, 20214 yr Hi Jozeff Single-monitor user here, but there is P3D View Group you can tinker with: Display And View Group Configuration (prepar3d.com) or this YT Tutorial P3D View Group Setup - YouTube
November 5, 20214 yr Author Thanks. As I've mentioned I do use view group for my view and I used this exact youtube video to set it up. What I really want to know is if I can use chaseplane or ezdok in this viewgroup setup. My understanding is that the sideviews (side minitors) do not work with chaseplane/ezdok but I'm not sure. So the question is: is there any use for this software when using multiple monitors in viewgroup configuration? Thanks for your thougts! Jozeff

Jozeff Sorry, totally missed your initial clarification re View Group. Apologies, have no experience with using multiple-monitors for the SIM, hopefully some of the advanced users on the Forum can help you out Keep well and hope your issues are resolved soon Kind regards
November 6, 20214 yr Author No problemo! I used aivladoft free camera addon and tried chaseplane (and refunded). Neither of those programs did anything when using viewgroup! it is not possible at the moment to change views with 3rd party addon when using viewgroups in p3dv5. Cheers Jozeff

Cheers Jozeff Hi Jozeff, I'm not quite sure exactly what you want to do, but I am using a three monitor setup (180 degrees FOV using a view group) in P3D V5.2. together with Chaseplane and for me it works fine. But perhaps you want something that I don't use? I use Chaseplane to position (tilt, shift etc.) the A2A C172 aircraft view so it mainly hides the instrument panel because I have that on a separate monitor. I also use Chaseplane to be able to switch to a left view or right view. Al three monitors follow Chaseplane just fine as far as I use it.
November 11, 20214 yr Author Mmm, that is strange.... Do you have 3 separate views each showing 60 degrees? Or do you have big screen stretched over 3 monitors? Does chaseplane handle only the middlescreen? I've read multiple times that chaseplane doesn't support triple screens. Thanks for your help!
November 11, 20214 yr As I said, I am using a view group for a 180 degrees view. You can't do that with one big screen stretched over 3 monitors because it looks quite bad and warped. So to sum it up this is what I have and do: I am using p3d V5.2 HF1 (but have used it in V4.5 also and it works the same there) I have defined a view group in p3d which has three views each showing (approximately) 60 degrees FOV I ONLY use the A2A C172 aircraft with the virtual cockpit. I can't comment on other aircraft! But logic would suggest that it should work for all virtual cockpits I use Chaseplane to handle the position in the aircraft and for setting the zoom to one (well 0.98 is the best I can do) I use Chaseplane to look 'down' to my instrument panel and to the pedestal. I use the hat switch to look left and right. These left and right views are defined within Chaseplane When I look to the left or right all three monitors display that view (there is a small amount of warping then, but I think it's because I have to finetune the view port some more) So in my experience, Chaseplane works just fine with multiple monitors. Perhaps I am using it in a specific way but for my case it works. I recall that I had some time with Chaseplane support to get it to work. I believe I had to turn off a setting but I'm not quite which it was. It could be static cameras or something. Since I don't use any other camera than the onboard one it wasn't a big deal for me. November 11, 20214 yr Author Hi dromer, Thanks a lot! Very informative! I guess I have to give chaseplane a 2nd chance then. I'm pretty fed up with the ctrl a and ctrl s keys and the continuously changing zoomfactor, resetting default pilot seat etc... xplane 11 always has perfect position for me. Having this annoyance since fsx 15 years ago. I used to own ezdok a long time ago but that was when I had one 20 inch monitor. Tnx again. Jozeff

Having this annoyance since fsx 15 years ago. I used to own ezdok a long time ago but that was when I had one 20 inch monitor. With fsx I used ezdok but I always found the configuration, installation and usage a pain in the a.... I also tried it on p3d a long time ago but had the same issues there. So I am glad I found Chaseplane indeed because it gives me a nice viewpoint automatically. I suggest that you try it again and perhaps play with the settings. We could also compare our settings when you have installed it and it doesn't work as expected. Also, I received good support from them when I had issues with it and they solved it nicely. So you could try their support also. Peter
November 11, 20214 yr Author Did you also create 3 viewfrustrums (or whatever it's called 😉) on viewgroup settings? I set up my views exactly like shown in his video... Edited November 11, 20214 yr by jozeff
November 13, 20214 yr Author Haha, this was literally the only tutorial online that showed me how to set up multiple views. P3d is a pain in the a.. as far as setting up multiple views are concerned. Display ID, machine id, GeForce 2080. 0.1, geforce 2080. 0.2 etc, viewfrustum,.... It took me a full day to set up 3 separate screens smoothly for the virtual cockpit and a 4th screen for maps etc. In xplane11 I had it setup in 15 minutes.. Yesterday I had to reinstall graphic driver and again it took me 2 hours to set it all up in p3d again, although I knew how to do it this time. Frustrating as hell. Well, have to give chaseplane a go.. Thnx and hapy day! Edited November 13, 20214 yr by jozeff
