November 12, 20214 yr I am, yet again, trying to get my VRinsight Boeing style Combo 2 working within MSFS 2020. I have followed the instructions as best as I think, but, within USER/MYNAME/APPDATA/LOCAL, I find 2 folders named LORBY SI. Seems wrong to me, but if this is correct then what should each folder contain? I have copied guenseli's files into each and the bridge will permit me to select the appropriate setting, eg A320, Basic, no AP etc and, whilst I can change data within the sim which is correctly reflected on the FCU displays, I cannot use the knobs on the FCU to change the data, speed etc, as it does not change either the display on the FCU or within the sim. Strangely, the command to set/release the Parking Brake and other "button" commands *do* work. Any hints/help would be gratefully received. Thanks kindly. BR Maurice. Very Best Wishes, Dr T. The one with capital letters and underscore LORBY_SI is the database folder of the application, It contains all the important files. The other one named "Lorby-SI" is created by Windows for every application of this type. Its subfolders contain technical information where Windows stores the app dialog positions etc. I strongly suggest that you stay away from both. They are hidden for a reason, every interference can have catastrophic consequences for AAO. 6 hours ago, Paladin said: I have copied guenseli's files into each What for? Is that what you are supposed to do with those files? Never heard of an approach like this one, AAO does not automtatically parse/search for/read any odd file in that directory. I am not familiar with those files, but most likely they are scripts or templates that have to be imported into AAO using the proper dialogs and options in the AAO menus? Please ask the author of those files for directions about what you are supposed to do with them. Just dropping them into hidden directories, that you normally have no business with, that can't be it. November 12, 20214 yr Author Oliver, many thanks for your response. NOTED. Concerning the names of the Folders and their contents, my 77 year old eyes are not what they once were, so I could [on my 4K monitor] have completely missed - and _ in the names, sorry. RE the contents. To avoid more confusion, guenseli [who was part of your being able to offer the VRI bridge, as I recall] identifies in his readme: Installation of the AAO MCP Bridge profiles: open the folder C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\VRIBridge backup your current LorbyVriBridgeProfile.xml copy the LorbyVriBridgeProfile.xml of this package into this folder That's it! Thus being led to "the invisible" [hidden] directories !!! The other things that are required are indeed Scripts and Templates comprising: AAO MCP Bridge profiles, AAO MCP templates and AAO Scripts which are reasonably easily dealt with using AAO"import" and paying careful attention to what you are doing 🙂. Before attempting to do new things that you may consider I have "no business with", I always - yes, always 🙂 - backup my system! I did uninstall AAO using Revo Uninstaller and noted that there were quite a few "leftovers" on my system where AAO does not completely uninstall all its "bits" !! I thought I had asked a "reasonable" [to me] question to discover why I appear to have write access in only one direction using AAO. Not of concern though, there are, perhaps, other ways of "cracking the nut" with either FSUIPC or Spad.next. My preference however is to use AAO so I will continue to try further, paying more attention to those "hidden" directories. Take care Oliver and thanks kindly for producing and supplying this terrific tool with which I am currently grappling BR 🙂 Maurice. The database and user content are always "left over". Otherwise there would be a very high risk of people losing their profiles, templates and gauges when they uninstall-reinstall for a new update of the app. I can assure you that the uninstall-reinstall scheme will not help one bit with Lorby apps - all it does is rewrite the executables, and those don't break easily. As for the VRI - I'm sorry, but I don't have any VRI hardware and cannot offer any intelligent help. You really need to contact Guensli about specs. Edited November 12, 20214 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
November 13, 20214 yr Author Good morning UK time Oliver. Thanks again for the response. No problem kind sir, I will continue with my efforts and, if necessary, will talk with guenseli, he is a most helpful gentleman. I would really like to get this working fully and correctly and, maybe in the future attempt the same with the Airbus variant of the vrinsight product. They are, currently, both very expensive paperweights. My best regards. Maurice. Very Best Wishes, Dr T. Maurice Murphy
