Would this help to stop panning in 2D?

Featured Replies

Q) How can I pan the outside view when in 2D cockpit mode?A) Add this line in the FS9.CFG CONTROLS section:PAN_IN_COCKPIT_MODE=1I really wish a similar line would work in FSX. There are SERIOUS unnecessory complications for TIR users associated with non-lockable panning in 2D in FSX. I'm aware of a few solutions suggested on these boards, but they are superfluous and defective (meaning have their flaws). My question to the devs and users if it is really THAT hard to inhibit panning by default when switching to 2D mode in FSX?Thank you.

I have no idea why you find it difficult to either modify the default "Cameras.cfg" file, or simply add a custom camera definition in any aircraft's aircraft.cfg file. The ability to "inhibit panning" is still present in FSX; it's simply been moved to a different - and more highly configurable - context... :9

Say again, Bill. Do you mean I can turn off panning in the config? That's what I've been seeking. I don't know if you got it right though: the problem is that when you enter 2D view with your TrackIR on (from VC for example), the panel pans all over the screen (and the FSX world behind) with your head movement, unless you stop it with an additional button click, which is a drag btw compared to how it works in FS9. If I'm missing something, could you please paste here the lines you've suggested? Thanks.
