You don't have to fly the Islander if you are happy with the default 208. The Islander might be better quality with it being third party, but the biggest draw will be to people who want to fly an Islander, such as those simulating Scottish highland aviation or something. The choice tends to be useful for those who want a particular aircraft as opposed to one that just fits a category. They are totally different and unique aircraft, they just fit into similar categories. The 208 is very similar to the Daher/Quest Kodiak, but I'd rather have the Kodiak than the 208. Currently circumnavigating the world in a mix of Cessna and Piper aircraft. My Default Setup; MSFS, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster Hotas X, TrackIR, Samsung Galaxy Tab, JustFlight Piper Arrow. Simworks Quest Kodiak 100. Wishlist; Honeycomb Bravo, Honeycomb Charlie. 1:400 Airline Model Collector.
November 23, 20214 yr 2 engines rather than 1.. non-turboprop as opposed to turboprop... even shorter landing and takeoff than a 208.. actually looks like an aircraft rather than a pregnant flying whale and the sounds.. just the sounds 🙂 ... oh and it's an Islander 🙂 and no glass cockpit 🙂 In pure transport terms.. not a lot of difference really, although the Islander can carry a little more cargo (not much) and yes it's a little slower. but it's an Islander and I may have forgotten to mention, it not only looks and flies like one.. it sounds like one too 🙂 especially when flying with the window open.
