Milviz Porter PC6 - COM states

Featured Replies

Hi Mark,

I am chatting with some of the Milviz team over in their PC6 support forum. Their PC6 does not appear to properly maintain the SimConnect radio status. At least the FS ATC Chatter tool does not recognize powered up COM1 or COM2.

Jim, their project Manager, promised to look into it but maybe there is a way to connect you guys to speed up things? Not trying to be pushy or anything here 🙂 Just want some of my favourite addons to work in harmony!

Unfortunately the Milviz support forum is restricted access, otherwise I would add a link to the posts.

Cheers, Søren

You could have them post in this thread if they have questions about the specific simvars that FS-ATC-Chatter reads, and I can answer them.

Thanks. Have asked them if they can do just that 😉

Ross,

Can you list the SIm Vars here, then @SuperKaro2014 can post them on their forum.

I suspect there will be some back-and-forth, so I'd rather it happen here where I can participate.

You are probably right. I am trying to get you guys an email for a dev at Milviz instead.

The moderator of the forum is [email protected].

Hello again, if you contact [email protected], Steve the forum moderator will facilitate contact to the development team.

Hope it works and best I can do 😁 ... really missing that contextual chatter in the Porter 🤞🏻
Best of luck!

... and please let me know how it goes 😉

I was flying the Porter tonight... doing the rounds in British Columbia 😀

I noticed something which may help:

When loading in cold and dark at a parking spot, I never get the contextual FS ATC Chatter as described before. Even if the radios are tuned and working fine to communicate with the built-in ATC.

Tonight I loaded in at an airstrip with no parking spots... so straight on the runway. Lo and behold FS ATC chatter worked!

I’ll post this in the Milviz forum too.

I know you guys can’t do much, but just for info. Did some further detective work. Surely there is something fishy with the way the radios are/aren’t being turned on.

1a Starting cold and dark and then according to the check-list. Radios are actually not part of the start-up procedure or check-list, which in retrospect is a bit strange. Radios still work for the in-sim ATC, but are apparently not registered as ‘powered’ in the SimConnect status since FS ATC Chatter does not picks them up.

1b Pressing Control-E after 1a i.e. the check-list start-up... Radios are apparently ‘powered’ in the SimConnect status since FS ATC Chatter does pick them up. The Porter tends to explode afterwards but hey.

2 Starting on the runway. Radios are apparently ‘powered’ in the SimConnect status since FS ATC Chatter does pick them up.

Posted at Milviz - Hope this helps to narrow down the issue...

Me too 😊

Did you actually get a response in the email?

They received my email and passed it on, but I haven't heard anything further.
