Squashed Eyeballs

Your link doesn't work but I was able to copy it to Firefox search and it worked.

It's a problem with too much blood seeping into the head and squeezing the eyeball.  One astronaut started his trip with 20/20 vision and when he got back it was 20/100.  They were able to restore his eyesight.  But it could be a problem on long voyages.

They have developed a sleeping bag that moves the blood away from the head to the legs and feet while he is sleeping to alleviate the problem.

I never heard of this myself Dugald.  

I read the article on BBC news science.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I wanted so badly to say:

Oh yeah...squashed eyeballs...I saw them in the 80's...they opened for the sex pistols...Neil Young had a walk on appearance.

but I figured the joke might not convey well so I didnt.

never heard of squashed eyeballs before.  sounds dangerous.
