MSFS Simulate Wind Gusts? / Squawk Sheet

Featured Replies

Anyone know if MSFS is simulating wind gusts?  Some of the area's I have been in the past couple days have been windy very windy and supposed to have some stout wind gusts according to metar reports. But from my observation I don't think I have been noticing the wind gusts please feel free to cross check my observation and correct me If I am wrong.

I really hope they can iron this stuff out.  When I left my FSX Gold decked out waaaaay to much with HIFI Sim.  I think they finally had good weather and ground effect implemented.  If they could get that for weather with MSFS and the beautiful scenery and clouds and calm down a bit with all the "xbox military / Radio Control drone planes." It would sure be nice.

Lately it feels like I am driving out about a half hour to an airfield to get ready to go flying.  And a tire's flat, landing light is out, or something is gonna be on the maintenance squawk sheet to screw up the flight 😞.  Man I just had to get some of this out.  I have been trying to stay positive. She is a very beautiful sim.  I just hope they can get some of the physics & weather ironed out and get some planes that aren't "r/c drone flyers". Sorry y'all I had to get it out here wife looks at me like I am nuts & I apologize for my crappy punctuation grammar.

Holy word not allowed Batman.   Please feel free to correct me If I am wrong.  But what I have observed so far it looks like there are still no wind gusts using the shift-z stats and looking at the wind.

They discussed this during the Dev Q/A yesterday.  There are gusts in the wx presets, but the only gusts in live weather are randomized.   They said they couldn't get the necessary data, which I find puzzeling - perhaps I misunderstood.  They also said, like many other things, they will try and do more in the future with incremental updates.

Thank You kindly for the info.   This kills me man.  When I had FSX Gold with HiFi Sim AS16 for FSX they had the info then to inject wind gusts with live weather..... Puzzled.      I deleted all that old stuff a couple years ago.
