December 26, 20214 yr Getting used to the Kodiak and flying in PNG and landing on the tiny mud strips and it is a challenge. Someone now made a mod to enable the GTN-750 in the Kodiak center MFD. I love the GTN-750 as all of us do. And the WT G1000NXI is nice also since its been modded into MSFS. One thing the GTN-750 can not do is set up a procedure for an airstrip that has no procedures. The G-1000NXI can. It makes a nice Vector or Straight in approach that the GPS laterally guides you into and the pilot has to do the VNAV manually. What do you prefere for these very hard to find little mud strip landings ? Do you like to have some lateral GPS guidance or do you like to go back to the days of IL2-Sturmovik and BF-1942 where you have to search and find the strip then all by eye and feel set up the landing. I guess the procedure would be to be a ~2000 ft AGL ~6nm from the runway and descend at 500-600 ft/min. I'm a torn by what GPS I should use. I could also possibly make use of a radar altimeter also. Whats everyones desire for bush landings ? PS: This is also a great site for downloading flight plans. No login, no ads, and no 15 second timer. https://worldtour.flights/ Edited December 26, 20214 yr by MSFLYER5856 5 MHz 8087 IBM Clone, 640k RAM, 10 MB HD, Hercules 64k Graphics card, 14 in Monochrome Monitor, CH Products Mach-1 Joy Stick.
December 26, 20214 yr If you're writing about the PMS version - I definitely prefer the g1000 NXi. It can actually navigate because it uses the custom flight plan system. It loads procedures like real life etc. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Like making your own personal route on a standard Automobile GPS. Maybe in the future, PMS can incorperate custom plans. I tried them both last night on a tiny mud strip in the mountains and they are both good with the G-1000 making it a bit easier for a custom plan and approach.. 5 MHz 8087 IBM Clone, 640k RAM, 10 MB HD, Hercules 64k Graphics card, 14 in Monochrome Monitor, CH Products Mach-1 Joy Stick.

I just got the G1000NXI yesterday, and i am still learning it, but I can already see how much better it is than the 750.

Although I would not know how to do this yeat. I still have a ton of learning to do. And this is the stuff I'm looking to do. I'll do this flight later tonight. Just neet to look at his GPS to see where he took off from. Amazing video. I think I landed her last night but there were trees to clear and here ther are no trees. AYDY Sindeni.
