repro always has visual artifacts and consumes fps so i don't use it.  play around with gfx settings to hit around 30 fps and it will be smooth.

I still need to work with that NIS tool, but after trying to tune a couple other games as well and learning a bit more I went back in and tried my current settings with 100% scale in sim, 70% in OpenXR, and repro disabled.  No wavyness, sharp text, and about 25fps.  So I just need to squeeze out 5fps solidly somewhere and it seems like I should be "set" 😄  I feel like there's finally hope of this being workable until the 4000 series GPU's come out.  Not paying 2-3x MSRP for a 3090 right now and there's no way I'm getting in any of the queues for them either it seems like.  Also a friend sent an article indicating 4090 may have up to 3 times the TFLOPS of a 3090!  I can limp by on my 2080 Super and hold out for that especially if that NIS tool works out.

Just wanted to thank everyone that helped me out with this.  I did manage to finally get up to a solid 30ish FPS in most situations except things like A32NX at a bigger airport with any weather at all.  Unfortunately I've decided to return the G2.  I spent a lot of time trying to get it to sit right and be comfortable but it just didn't like my face.  I don't think I have a particularly large nose, but it kept wanting to sit on the bridge causing it to be sore within 30 minutes.  That plastic piece that's partway down the soft nose part in the face gasket.  I tried a bunch of different adjustments with the rear and the top strap but short of uncomfortably clamping it down like a "vise" which would have just made different places hurt, it wasn't going to work.  A friend has an Index so I'm going to go back over and try that out again and re-evaluate, or just wait till the 4090's are out and pick that up then one of the newer high FOV & resolution HMD's that are starting to come out.
