Cannot load fplans (resolved)

Hi, I tried to follow the instructions on p9 but had no luck.

There is no 'import' key only 'delete all' and 'delete pending' greyed out...

I copied your .gfp and waypoint files in folder FPLN at first in Databases (cf manual) and second in GTN (cf a post op RXP from nov 2017) , but no luck

I replaced the FPLN folder to:

C:\SimFprogs\Garmin\DB\Databases (SimFprogs is the pace where I put my Sim related programs like LNM etc)

Now it works...

@RXP This was not in the manual? Is something going wrong now?

Hi,

Actually it is in the manual (see below)!

In any case, when the FPLN folder is not found, the RXP GTN will write the expected folder in the log files for quick (and non-ambiguous) reference!

PS: a quick look in the manual where it says:

Quote

This folder must be named FPLN and be located in the GTN Trainer Data folder, typically12

The footnote #12 says:

Quote

12 The FPLN folder must reside in the folder known as GTNNAVDATA (GTN Trainer 6.50+) or GTNAPPDATA (previous versions). See Configuring Alternate Paths chapter for the meaning and location of the trainer known folder names.

And the aforementioned chapter tells:

Quote

The Garmin trainer installs various components, each one in a specific path.

[...]

Set the application database path, that is where to look for all the db files (terrain, obstacle, navigation etc..):
GTNNAVDATA="C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases" (Trainer v6.50+)

So if you're installing the database in another folder than default, the folder generically referred to as "GTNNAVDATA" is the one corresponding to the the one where you've installed the database files. It is therefore also the one where you'll create the FPLN folder!

Conclusion:

don’t worry and carry on?

The positive conclusion to me is:

The question I'm raising is whether "C:\SimFprogs\Garmin\DB\" is the folder you've manually selected during the Trainer installation, and whether this folder is clearly showing in the RXP GTN log files in case you hadn't created the FPLN folder there. I'm basically cross checking with you whether the information was there to find, and whether this information (manual and/or log file) is right or wrong for our customers.

Hi Jean-Luc,

All I did was, after starting the Setup, changing the standard install folder (in Program Files) into SimFprogs.

For the rest I changed nothing.

With the shortcut procedure, I changed the FPLN location and that works as well.

FYI: I used LittleNavMap to make a FP and let it export to de FPLN folder. Works well.

Grz and thx for your attention.

Indeed perhaps a little attention in the manual?

Paul
