January 4, 20224 yr Now, that we are in hard winter on the Northern hemisphere (actually not here in the Austrian Alpes) I'm wondering if we can land on snow on frozen lakes in the wilderness. I just tried it with the C172-skis version in the Whistler area in BC but it did not feel right. After the landing, skis and wheels were completely sunken in the snow/ice (?) and take off was impossible. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
January 4, 20224 yr the ground handling on the frozen ice def needs work, tho not sure if it is an aircraft config issue or a base sim issue - maybe a bit of both. I've only done it on the Savage Gravel with the huge wheels and while landing and take off were bumpy it was possible without too much trouble Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
