Max fuel on default B744 for ultra long haul

Featured Replies

Hi

I want to book RJAA to EGLL in the default B744; Simbrief tells me the air time is 12:00 hours and my Virtual airline says it is 11h 52min. With full tanks, the default xp11 Laminar B744 has a maximum of 9:49 flight time in normal cruise, regardless of payload weight. Is there way a I can customise the fuel/weight to give me enough for this flight?

Thanks in advance,

 Ian Kidd

the fuel in the default 744 is custom, the xp display isnt accurate.

But you wont manage 12 hours of long haul in the default 744 because it has a memory leak and drops to a few fps after a few hours.

sparky has some more learning to do, but

thanks for this. I found a post in the xplane forum saying the fuel isnt accurate and it can be increased using planemaker, which I am trying. Others warn against this!  I have previously flown 8-9 hours in this aircraft with no frame rate issues so I'll give it a go.
