Sharing a light MSFS moment...

Today I made a flight from Cairo to Brussels with the FBW A320. I was taxiing to runway 25C in front of the AIG Egyptair 985 B789 fight to New-York leaving at the same time. After I took off, Cairo Tower cleared Egyptair 985 to "line up and wait".

Then MSFS ATC asked me to switch to the next frequency, and so I did. However - as often lately - that frequency never became available, neither with the ATC menu no with my switching to that frequency on the Airbus radio itself. So I had no choice but remain on that Cairo Tower frequency.

I was well above 15'000 feet climbing to my flight level when I suddenly heard Cairo Tower: "Egyptair 985 you were not clear to take off!"

Well... it looks like that even AI Captains get fed-up with MSFS ATC and don't hesitate to bust a Tower instruction!

I do hope that after Asobo has overhauled the weather and the sim is mostly stable they will find the time to overhaul the built-in ATC. In my opinion the current version is a stopgap in order to have at least a basic form of ATC in the sim.

Someone mentioned Working Title is being tasked w/ working on ATC at some point.  To be frank it doesn't seem all that daunting to improve on.  I imagine there is a table of variables that trigger certain types of responses and while they're often not that far off it seems mostly like a case of better tuning.  I'm always impressed when ATC looks at real-time traffic and my own flight and acknowledges the interactions therein which is new for me as a former P3D/FSX user.  Hopefully a few other attributes will be added to improve realism.
