May 8, 200719 yr I am intrested in getting the BeaverX from Aerosoft and thought I should see if anybody had it had some advice about whether or not to get it. What do you like or not like? Any input is welcome. (I am trying to decide between the Beaver and the Alphasim DHC-4/C-7 Caribou) I will be using it for FSX. By the way I think I read somewhere that the BeaverX doesn't have a 2Dpanel. Is that true?
May 8, 200719 yr I love AVSIM readers! In the platonic sense, of course.http://www.avsim.com/pages/0507/BeaverX/BeaverX.htmThe link above is to my new review of the Aerosoft BeaverX, which must have been posted just hours ago. It's my most in-depth review to date, and even features commentary from the folks at Kenmore Air, world-leading experts in the deHavilland Beaver. For the short form, you can scroll down to the "Executive Summary". Be sure to check out all of the screenshots!Jeff ShylukAvsim Product Reviewer
May 8, 200719 yr Yes, read Mr. Shyluk's review and then buy it. That is, if you enjoy the type of flying the Beaver has to offer. I've owned it for a over a month now and am still enjoying it. Matter of fact, I see from the review that I still have a few things to learn about the package. Thanks, Jeff.
May 8, 200719 yr You're most kindly welcome! The BeaverX is perhaps the biggest reason all of my "heavy iron" jetliners are mostly sitting unused in their virtual hangars, collecting fractal dust. FSX is a real joy for VFR sim-pilots, and the BeaverX is well-suited for that task.Jeff ShylukAvsim Product Reviewer
May 9, 200719 yr I have version 2.0 of the BeaverX package. This is certainly one of the best FSX aircraft set yet developed for FSX. However I disagree with Jeff Shyluk
May 9, 200719 yr Author I agree it's a superb package and excellent FS value. They do include a variety of VC texture options most of which, IMO have not captured the Beaver as I'd like to fly it....which is all beat up and dirty and looking like a working man's aircraft.cheersGreghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
